Will having a personalised plate increase my insurance ?

Every insurance supplier operates differently , with some categorising a personalised number plate as a form of car modification.

However this is not always the case and you should check with your own insurance company to find out.

At admiral for example they do not treat personalised number plates as a vehicle modification . Along with many other insurance providers .

You should notify your car insurance of changed to the registration on your policy once the number plate has been fitted to the car and the V5 document has been changed .

If you do not inform the DVLA , there a risk that they will think the vehicle is uninsured .
